Ok buddy, while we are on the same page . . .
Take that Aristocrats’ tune [on your speakers/room] and re-EQ the BASS to where all room resonances are absent and then start bringing up the Bass freq spectrum until everything sounds full and very defined without sounding at-all muddy [even if you don’t like it that way - just try it]. You are seeking individual instrument clarity like the headphones provided. [punchy/defined/even if subdued - that’s where dynamics/musicianship lives].
Then crank it up and listen to it. (Most people just want to be beaten to death by a visceral impact because it is a physical experience for them and not so much an auditory one).
Next; go back and listen to Tiny Dancer again [without changing any settings] and you will understand what the original recording engineers released upon a mastered mix meant for the consumer speakers of that era.
Then leave your EQ alone [forever] and just twist the BASS level dial up on your amp when you are dancing around the room with a libation of your pleasures on a Friday evening as needed.
Speakers are for fun - Studio Monitors are for serious detailed work - Mixing/Mastering Headphones are for critical listening/detailed/focused WORK - and it is work making music/mixes - you either love it and excel at it or just chase your ass.
Let us quit chasing this seemingly elusive dragon and slay it within our own spaces/minds/equipment . . .
Best!
