Hey all, I’m trying to wrap up a very compact 2-way and I’m running into an issue - I have little room for the crossover. There are several (physically) largish coils that I need to use that also don’t help. I’m confident I could do it with electrolytic caps from PE but I’d rather avoid that if possible. Anyone know of any compact caps out there that punch above their size? Sizes I need - 5.2 uf (I’d been using 4.7 + 0.47), 6.8 uf, 3.3 uf.

Tom beat me to it. The next thing to consider is higher gauge wire for the inductors. Also any inductor wraped around a smaller core will get the the desired value sooner with the trade off of power handeling before saturation.
Chances are you wont be throwing too much power at it if its a compact build. Also the distortion of a smaller driver will dominate a less expensive inductor.
Air core can be hand wound smaller in the same way of you have the patience.
Thank you gentlemen, I think the Wima may just be the ticket! I ‘think’ the inductors I have already will work but we shall see. They’re fairly high gauge already.
Smaller cap brands are out there like JB, Jantzen Standard Z and CrossCaps, Wima as already mentioned, Audyn Q2, and Erse PulseX.

… and they sound good to boot.
Same goes for the Kemet film caps I have tried.
Good stuff guys, thank you! I think we may have some winners here. Parts should arrive in the next week or so.
