This will be the next in line micro 3way design, likely about 3.5ltrs as the Bottleships before it. I am going to use the Dayton line of drivers for all the elements included. I’ve settled on the CF120-4 for the woofer, the DMA58-4 for the mid, and either the CE35-4 or CF18-4 for the tweeter. Box will be of a MicroVersa variety, made to try other designs with removable front and rear baffles, and an integrated internal sealed or multiaperiodic midrange chamber. I’m looking to use either the DSA135 or ND105 PR to tune the volume.
Now, I have to find out whether or not the CE35 passes the measurement tests.
The midrange has a bowl shaped cone, which i did not expect.
Aesthetically, the CE35 looks better, and I will likely not flush mount the drivers.
…made this some years ago , pardon the bad pic quality…It is a 3 way with NE19 tweeter , the CF120 plays down to 100Hz in a sealed section (Q = 0.5 ) the bottom of the cabinet is divided into 3 sections with 2x 5 1/4 inch (top and bottom) mid-bass firing up and down , the middle section is ported out the back ie bandpass 4th order. (The xover is at +/- 2.5K )
Brian Bunge? Thanks for the comments. I know JohnH thought it was more trouble than it was worth due to the double hump in response. However, I am not likely to use it above about 850-900Hz range, handing off to the 2" midrange. This means some of that will then be out of band and less of an issue.
