Just got home. Long haul but worth it. It was a very relaxed event and I even felt relaxed standing up and attempting to answer questions. Thanks to Ken for the door prizes. I know my wife will be very pleased, because the last time I came home with more drivers she said “that’s just great” I intend to surprise her with some authentic mushy peas from Tallbrit in a few days, so stay tuned.
I was indeed the back of the head shown in post 32, behind Ken.
This was a very nice time, and certainly an event that I will continue to attend especially since it seems to be taking over the torch passed from Meniscus and CSS. The venue was casual and cozy and I appreciated seeing everyone and hearing “Mushy Peeeeas” over and over

interesting speaker grill design

The gray speakers have the waveguide without screw holes glued in and bondo’d smooth, then painted. But I brought a version of the waveguide with screw holes (no tweeter attached) to demonstrate a simple 3D printed version. It was just sitting on top when the picture was taken.
Image 7819 is a fully 3D printed cabinet that I haven’t finished, but just wanted to demonstrate some things that can be done.
It appears the port with your gray speakers was designed with stv’s (diyaudio) port optimizer. Do you have any nearfield port responses you could post? It would be interesting to see.
Both the grey speaker and white speaker with the MAC driver have the STV port. I am traveling this week and not quite sure what I have and don’t have on my laptop. If I have the measurements I’ll post them this week, otherwise I’ll post them when I’m back and tag you.
