Amp Kit from Jameco

A simple 2x60W mono amp with monolithic 1-piece amp modules. I wouldn’t call it audiophile but it’s kinda neat and reasonably priced.

Cool stuff! Comes with no heatsinks. I wonder how hot they get. The board puts them both on one side so I bet they are meant to at least bolt to the side of a case.

I had a little Denon bookshelf system that used that type of amp module. Those were 25W Panasonic modules lmao. Really cheap haha.

I blew mine up running it too loud in the shop. They need some decent heat-sinking. Benny: those amp modules are usually 5-20 bucks each. Mine were 9 bucks each to replace. And a (insert expletive here) mighty pain to remove and install.

This looks like, IMHO, a really good learning kit. Especially given most folks here could put it in a case with sheetmetal and wood side panels Old School.
