Well maybe not fire , but puts on a pretty good fireworks show when plugged in. No source connected just the amp and plug to the wall. Fuse pops once the amp see’s 120 and get one helluva spark show. Found out that the part is the picture is where the light show is coming from. Part # on the part is DSP 104 ( thermistor ?) I cant imagine this getting hot and failing when plugged in ? Then again Im not sure how a thermistor works in a circuit. Seems to be on the power side of the amp is where this is happening . Maybe something else in the circuit is causing it to blow ? Thoughts?
A lot of the time, thermistors at the PSU input are meant for a soft-start circuit of sorts.
They are also used as a failsafe to open the circuit.

This thermister is being used to limit inrush current. A shorted component downstream or a faulty power supply are likely the issue.
