I would not use the Solens on the tweeter. Solens on woofer is fine. The Clarity bottom basement caps are likely worth it here. The others, not so much.
Picked these from the event drawing because was thinking predefined build with known crossover, knock down cabinet can be purchased limiting time to done and would then have a “reference” for other builds.
Learned that one should not get a new unplanned project and then go for a long drive. Queue good idea fairy …
already have MTM, want coaxial or 2 way … no 16 ohm driver
could bipole/dipole arrange the drivers … no changes crossover & cabinet
use second driver as a passive radiator … could if pad tweeter but seems silly
you prefer sealed bass … no knockdown cabinet is ported
why is the crossover high … no changes crossover, and likely avoids tweeter fs or for directivity (unclear)
could time align or horn load the tweeter … no changes crossover and cabinet
the vented designs goes to 80 and the sealed to 169 Hz -3dB, you’ll need a sub either way.
Ugh … and sealed would be easier to integrate with a 2nd crossover low f driver and or active subwoofer. Could maybe use the flat pack boxes but modify the vent for an aperiodic enclosure with higher f3 and lower second impedance hump.
Can’t use Eminence ULF4012-8 pair I’ve got as the low driver because only 90 dB, poor match for this set. Then I noticed while taking a break at a rest area that Madisound has high efficiency SB Acoustic high Qts woofers. Could test out a ripole or folded dipole bass which I’ve heard works better in small rooms I’ve got. I’d tested the Eminence as a ripole w/o a build frame but it requires a lot of amplification to match the low efficiency bookshelves I’ve got in the office. Though this was likely deceptive because the floor was shaking and I wasn’t measuring.
Unclear if this is going to be a quick win or not. Decisions…
