Got the ports glued in.
Now working on filing the grain in on the baffles, in preparation for clear coat.
Same here. I sold a pair a couple days ago, with more interest than I ever expected. Now I want to build more! You may remember this from Iowa 2022, now completely reworked and in the hands of a happy buyer.
Not sure what you mean by your post? Same here?
Baffles are prepped, waiting on my guy to get to them.
Had a chance to get some crossover boards and mounts taken care of…
Then added a couple more braces. Added some damped cross box pieces…
Well I could have just popped a couple holes in the back for some terminals and been done with it.
Nope.
Effing work of art, dude!
Made some trim pieces for the front of the bases. I cut strips of curly maple to match what’s going on in the baffle. Then epoxied copper to that to mimic the baffle as well.
Then I put my diamond shaped inlay in. I’ve done this in most of my builds and use a different material in each one. In this case, I used some leftover carbon fiber/copper I had from the baffles of the Invit8tions.
How do you flush mount the inlay? (Looking at it, I’d think a 1/4” router bit with standard 1/2” bearing can’t get that precise??)
Incredible work !!!
(sorry to say, my choice of bases finish is; flat or satin black)
Wow! Awesome work!
The secret…
That’s sexy
Awesome!!!
I have two or three things that I have been unable to route a precise enough shape. I have searched and searched but probably was never using quite the right words for the right solution to come up in the search results.
Got the finish on the bases. Input terminals and wire done. Inlays …inlayed. Mid enclosure packed and wired. Layers back to front… Rockwool, poly batting, denim, poly batting, denim, foam then felt around the outside.
Always inspirational, your artful works are . . . ![]()
Incredible work
Finally got the baffles cleared. Blocking and buffing should happen this weekend… fingers crossed.
Had to lay one on there of course…![]()
Those are Boss!
That’s a nice looking speaker.
