Honeycombs redo

Yeah, I’m bringing these to Indy. I haven’t had time to work on anything else for myself.

Have some folks told you that you can measure stuff good? You obviously can better than others lol

Measures well with a microphone and a tapemeasure. Beautiful work on all levels.

I am guessing these are the aluminum RST tweeters?

When will the cap comparision happen?

Great measurement, though I always recommend checking the “capture noise floor” box in REW. Reading and interpreting graphs is hard for some though, so can you do us a big favour to help interpret these measurement results? In REW, take these same two measurements, and check this box in the controls (gear icon) and post the images again for everyone:

This option displays the harmonics at the frequency they occur at, ie the frequency in which they’ll be heard, rather than a relative level to the fundamental that creates them which is the typical view of distortion.

For a closer inspection, you can use the overlay tool. Select “Overlays” at the top of REW, then go to the distortion tab, then you can select 3rd harmonic for starters in the controls for a direct overlay of the before/after measurements. Change to dBr scale.

Last, just a reminder that REW includes a screenshot tool for creating images, just click the camera button in the top left of most any graph, you can copy to clipboard there and paste directly to the forum, easy peasy.

What was to volume on those cabs? About to embark on rebaffling some ~1cuft cabs for that same woofer (scored dirt cheap on diyaudio) and some lingering 27tdfc’s that’ll slap into visaton 148 waveguide. Aware volume using bit large, and some hints that woof appropriate for sealed, but also intended for not crazy loud usage. Some reason seas woofers, specs vs measured t/s, always model funky in vcad’s enclosure tool, so going off naive suggestions that madisound provides where can get into low 40’s with 2x3 ish port in 28L (sometimes wonder if being seas dealer that seas r&d would be like woah woah woah if gave absurd usage suggestions).

These are about 30 l and the ports are 2 inch x 3 inch, so Madisound actually came up with the same enclosure.
