KABD 4100 Board

How much cleaner is the sound with this DSP board kabd 4100. It there something better.

I ‘think’ the 3255 boards sound a little better.

The board doesn’t have DSP it is just a amp you have to use passive crossover. Unless I am looking at the wrong board

Google “3255 dsp amp boards” and you will find dsp versions.

I think they are some dsp versions out there, or use a plain 3255 board w/the PE dsp board. Isn’t the 3255 the chip icepower uses in some of their newer boards? Anyhow, plenty of power for most projects and to my ears, it sounds a little better. Of course this depends on the board. Some are implemented better than others.

That looks nice. Probably better parts quality than the ali boards I used.

Are you coming to the IowaDIY. If I finish my 8 speaker system AMP before the meet I will be there. I hope my 3255 board be here in time. Thanks for the information about that amp. I won’t be using kabd-4100 board.Did you go to the Dayton Audio Speakers Building Competition. I was there.

Nope. Work gets in the way of everything. Wife won’t let me retire. I asked … many times.:disappointed_face: The one time I might have made it to a meet, covid got in the way. I don’t think the 4100 is bad, just that I like the 3255 boards better. Really limited on free time these days, and if possible, a new shop is the current priority. That wondom board looks very interesting. IMO, they have a better parts quality that the ali boards I got.

There is a hold on the jab6 3255 boards . I want my new amp ready before the IowaDIY. Did you attend the Dayton Audio Speakers Building Competition 2026. I just realized I asked you the something. Sorry.

Hi there! Dee, I can tell you, the KABD4100 is not bad at all. I like AB amps, but that’s a subjective thing. Class D amps have democratized a level of audio that was hard to reach with cheap AB amps. But most of all, in this implementation, because of the bi-amplification and DSP you get a setup that’s hard to beat.
