My version of a Devore Orangutang O96

I have always loved the look of the Devore Orangatang O96. I am doing something completely different though. I am going to use the Denovo Audio PS92-8A as the mid tweet crossed to a sealed Peerless P830668. On the rear i am going to try the Peerless DX20BF00-08 as a rear firing tweeter. If I dont like it, I may not use it for the finished design, but I have never tried one before.

That’ll be a cool speaker!:+1:t3:

Made a little progress today. Next up damping material, then machining the fronts for the drivers.

I like the concept. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Not a lot of progress, i was building a sub for a friend using a GRS 10SW-4HE and the Dayton SPA250. It wss a great combination. I got a couple of terminal cups printed and a little extra bracing added.

What are your thought on the over all SPL on these guys?

They model to around 108db before baffle step for each speaker if that is what you are asking.

Very nice , do you plan to run them with tube power?

The PS92-8A is rated 85.5db (2.83v/1m). Though if you look at the response graph it appears to average pretty steadily a few db above that.

I thought you were asking about max spl. These will probably be around 84-85db sensitivity at best.

I got the baffles routed last night.

One assembled and ready to measure. I am just waiting for the wind to die down. The stands will be painted black.
