Looks like Tectonic has a replacment for the discontinued BMR. BMR43C-8A was reviewed by Vance Dickason in the Voice Coil newsletter.
The fame is like the Peerless wide range units.
You’ll need to ask PE for an ETA

Looks very interesting. Look forward to ordering a set when they become available. If the on-axis and directivity curves look as good as the old ones, this should be another winner. Hopefully the price will be reasonable as well.

PDF attached. Sensitivity is low at 85 1W/1M, do not know 2.83V, nominal imp is 8 ohms, so at least can be done in MTM for higher sensitivity or combine with a sub and big amp. polar looks good to 45deg for 5khz, so pair with small ribbon or tweter.

Anyone who why the old one was retired?
digikey still has the old driver - the new version is nowhere to be found other than the specs on Tectonic webshite

Like the improved response!
As I understand it, the smoothness of the FR response from about 2kHz to 20kHz relates to the bending wave technology employed. A sandwich cone is used with concentric rings on the back side. This affects the polar response and breakup modes. They must have improved the positioning or weight of the rings. The cone has a little more mass than the BMR’s that I used in my MGU speakers, so that is probably why the on-axis highs above 2kHz roll off just a little bit more. This should be easy to correct in the crossover.
I did some testing of the TEBM54C30-8 it has low IMD in the midrange but not as much output in the 100-200hz range as similar size Wavecor and SB drivers.
I was thinking about trying to build something like a BMR HT tower with mine but have given up and am selling them right now on ebay.
Welcome Mark!
Thanks Nate, just got on to the new website.
