Purifi dropped their SPK16 kit using their new tweeter. $2200 USD for drivers/PRs. Crossover not included but it’s nothing crazy for parts count or value. Very impressive FR and horizontal directivity, I’m sure the THD is industry leading as well.

About 81dB@2.8V/1m, good thing Purifi has an amp to sell you as well

Interesting what they are doing on the lowpass there, likely between 1.4k and 1.5k, allowing more output to likely fill in a dip?

Also- the woofer appears to not be available separately from the kit.

81db is not uncommon for smaller 2-ways.

It’s a 6.5” 4 ohm woofer. 81dB is low, plan to have a well capable amp to enjoy it fully. That’s all.

Hoffmans law strikes again.

Good catch. I didn’t notice that. Interesting, wonder what is different about it.

Edit: Reading the early paragraphs it looks like this is the aluminum cone with an inverted dust cap instead of a dome. That must be the difference, or at least one of them

looking forward to your measurements and thoughts - those look really good in the spec sheet!

Looks like Dayton has released the driver’s used in their Classic speakers. Cheap, too.

Speaking of the Epique drivers, has anyone used the MOTUS drivers? They look like monsters!

I have a 5” 2-way with the Viawave ribbon floating around, and am sitting on a quad each of the 5” and 8” to do a MTMWW with. Nice sounding drivers

My pair of Epique mids arrived today. Very well built, attractive cone and the phase plug is not obvious. Machined top plate is a nice touch. Very stiff suspension, although I did not run a break-in on them. As you can see, very well-matched to each other out of the box. I imagine they are worth every bit of the $60 price tag although I imagine PE will be jacking that price after a few months.

Interesting the 4” has venting under the spider landing but the 6.5” does not. The 6.5” has no cooling for the coil - no pole vent, no venting under the spider.
