Cleared out the bed of last year’s dead growth today to expose the first spears of the season. Then harvested a few pounds of it. I like the thinner stalks, but my father likes the thick bois, so most of it went to him. Afterwards I gave it a little fertilizer for the first time since planting it 3yrs ago.
Just installed the 5th minisplit in the house replacing a leaky senville minisplit. This was $1500 pioneer 22seer 12k btu unit. It only ran a few minutes and now it’s dead. Lost all the refrigerant out of the outdoor unit. Not happy right now.
Upgraded the race sim with Fanatec junk. Definitely next level stuff! Had to add braces to the wheel mount, the force feedback it’s capable of is no joke.
Glad to see the forum up and running again!! As I was texting Craig to see if it was just a local ISP thing, our entire neighborhood lost power. We got it back an hour later - after my wife had changed all the batteries in the dozen or so flashlights around the house.
Sounds (no pun) awful, is that a health and safety issue?!
Reminds me of a holiday job when I was a university student: working in a department store with various rides for kids. They had one reel to reel tape which played over the PA all day, every day for six weeks: Neil Diamond’s ‘Hot August Night’, which I didn’t like anyway and absolutely hated after just two days of the torture. The next year, the same thing except they lashed out and bought a tape with three songs by Gordon Lightfoot so we had that all day every day as well as Neil.
Bleah!
The only relief came when I was selected to be a store Santa Claus for a week when one of them had gone into hospital. If anything, that was worse: wearing plastic pants (guess why), hat and a stick on beard in 25-30C heat , trying to be cheerful with little brats who were all named Jason and Kylie after soap opera actors!
I took a drive down south to my local sawmill yesterday. Didn’t buy anything but holy cow! The small river down there had flooded and was running over the road. I read an EF1 tornado touched down near there but I didn’t see any signs of damage. No reported injuries which is great news.
