Checking for brake calipers frozen in place are one of the things to check for when looking at a high mileage tesla. Apparently, it’s because they get used so little they stick in place.

 I totally nailed it!!:sign_of_the_horns:t3:

After looking through, Steely Dan/Fagen three nods:+1:t3:
I have some listening to do for quite a few. I probably would have picked Couldn’t Stand the Weather for SRV, although I really like Riviera Paradise. Lots of good stuff on there.

Yep. Have a new mofi original master recording, 180gram vinyl 331/3 sized but plays at 45rpm. According to discogs, it’s the extreme bass version  .

Manufacturing Error Replacement Program
*******************
Some copies of this record, notably in the serial number range 11,000 and the serial range number 14,500 (there may be others), have a manufacturing aberration in track B1 "Walk Of Life". On this particular lacquer and resultant stampers at one point the extreme bass proved difficult to track on some, but not most, turntables. New stampers were subsequently made. Mobile Fidelity acknowledged the problem and by August 2019 was providing replacement discs only via the original vendors or directly to the original purchaser who bought from Mobile Fidelity or Music Direct. The faulty platters were to be returned to MoFi and destroyed. The limited time for exchanges/returns has a yet-to-be-determined expiration date.

Pink Floyd ‘Time’ from Dark Side of the Moon?

Still don’t like ‘em.

SRV, that rocks!

I had convinced myself I don’t like Steely Dan, but then I played my old Aja LP last weekend when listening to a new phono cartridge. My toes were tapping. I will say Pink Floyd bores the crap out of me when it comes to the actual music, but I do appreciate the sonics.

Thought “Steely Dan”, but wasn’t surprised.

The Maiden movie was fantastic! Great doc on the band from the get go to today. Can’t wait till September:sign_of_the_horns:t3:

I saw this on another audio forum, brilliant!

Don’t know who the guitarist on the right or the singer are, can anyone advise please?

Thanks

Geoff

ZZ Ward is great, love her!

There’s also a lo-fi but great live version with John Fogerty, also on YouTube; audience recording but still well worth a listen.

Worth noting that Jimi Hendrix really rated Billy as a guitarist.

Picked up a set of old Wharfedale speakers last December from a local vintage audio shop. They were dropped off for repair, they couldn’t get parts, so customer told them to keep them. They were going to throw them away, I saw some potential.

Unfortunately I didn’t take pics of the original condition. They were a 10" three way and the cabs were a bit beat up. I felt what the heck, I could possibly do something.

Finally got around to inspection and checking if the veneer has enough give to sand out most of the scratches. Luckily old stuff like that sometimes does. They showed promise, so I checked my stash to get some drivers to go in them. I had a couple buyout 8s and a set of RST A tweeters, both 4ohm.

Got everything back in order, painted baffles, adapter rings, sanded, and started taking measurements.

Those look beautiful, and I am sure will sound way better than the originals. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Those are looking great! I love the look of the hardwood millwork on the face of some of those older speakers. Shame so many of the original designs just don’t sound good and it wasn’t just because of the diffraction issues. I have no doubt your updated design will sound better.

Found some internet pics of the speakers…

I’m sure I couldn’t do worse, probably on par. They’ll make someone happy again.:+1:t3:
