If you keep a 12v compressor in the trunk there’s no need to check the air pressure in the spare.

Fantastic invention that has worked beyond all expectations and permanently resides with my under-the-backseat jack. Also use it before that first sub-zero winter blast and avoid those low pressure warnings when every Casey’s air compressor is too cold to function.

From 1991, one of the best Hendrix tribute concerts I’ve seen. Great playing and set list, sound is OK for YouTube but a CD set is available.
Point of trivia: Uli Roth’s girlfriend at the time was Monika Danneman, who was with Jimi the night he died and for a few days beforehand. All sorts of theories about what really happened.

Space savers have a very small contact patch by which to support the car’s weight… Fewer square inches of contact.
Since the cars weight doesn’t really change, that is the same amount of pounds supported by fewer squares inches. So higher Pounds per Square Inch.

Been on vacation this week. First stop was Helen GA for Oktoberfest. Fun little town and has a castle!

Next stop was Hershey PA for the Iron Maiden concert. While we were there we toured the Hershey museum and Botanical gardens.
The Maiden show was great! Megadeth opened. I had an extra ticket as my cousin couldn’t go, so I hit up Erik (@Analogkid455 ) who lives close by. He made the trip and got to see them for the first time
It was great to hang and chat afterwards with a fellow speaker geek/metalhead!
My wife, sister, and nephew also attended and saw them for their first time. Maiden always puts on a fantastic show!

Next stop, Philadelphia PA for the Simeone Foundation museum. I found out about this place after a video popped up on my YouTube feed about the “Hippie” Porsche 917.
The 917 is my favorite race car, especially with the Gulf livery. Knowing we were going to be a few hours away for the Maiden show, I had to get over there to see a 917 in person.
Although this chassis never raced, it has been run in vintage races and such. Chassis 917-044
The museum has a lot of great racing history, here’s a bit more…
Of course while in Philly, ya have to have a cheese steak, so we hit the famous rivalry of Geno’s and Pat’s…my wife and I chose Pat’s, but both were quite good.

Next stop was Moundsville WV. We took a tour of the penitentiary. It was built in 1866 and was decommissioned in 1995. Crazy awesome architecture and design. There were quite a few public hangings and a few electric chair deaths there, which lead to the site being “haunted”.
As a bonus, directly across the street was an Indian burial mound. Moundsville was named for the large amount of mounds in the area. They have an archeological museum next to it. We checked that out before the prison tour. Lots of cool artifacts and local history. The view from on top of the mound was awesome!
After that, we headed home. Was a great adventure! I haven’t added it up yet, but a lot of hours and miles traveling seeing a bunch of the country. Fantastic food and great memories

My wife surprised me with tickets for us to see Taj Mahal / keb’ Mo’ in Steamboat for my Bday. Strings Music Pavilion, a little place maybe 650 seats, and it was a great performance. Last time we saw keb’ Mo’ was probably a dozen years ago at the House of Blues.

Wow, the penitentiary had its own dedicated music room; listening chair in the middle and what a nice little power supply for an amp in the background- that could power a few EL34s…

The architecture of that prison reminds me of where I went high school for a bit (ROTC) . . .
Back home now… Ugh that was ~4000mi of driving and camping in 10 days. Got down to around 25F one night at West Yellowstone. Then saw 99F in Missouri visiting some family on the way back.

At that campground, the guy in the spot next to our’s got POed about something and left his truck blocking the vehicle path for hours. So I had to go around to the other end and back the trailer all the way down the lane and into the spot. I was a little anoyed, but didn’t think too much of it. We came back later that day after checking out some of the sights.. to see the campground folks keeping an eye on him as he hooked up and left (not his decision).

4000 miles!! I just figured our trip up, we were at 2000! Out of curiosity I looked up trip to LA California, from my house it’s 2077 miles.
I had most of the hardware but decided to do some balanced connections instead of the RCA’s and recently got it all hooked up. Hardware listed is ZP3 , TEAC PD-301 , Fiio K13 and the Ampapa D1. The TEAC is kind of an odd ball as it has a built in FM tuner which is kind of meh but it works. Have most of the bases covered , CD , FM tuner , Bluetooth and can and mostly likely might add the fosi S3 to the mix down the road. Was listening to some Gordon Lightfoot lastnight and it actually sounded pretty decent through the Jim Griffin (RIP) Jordan /Aurum cantus two ways. Messed around with the K13 R2R DAC a little and ended up liking the NOS setting the best. All tone shaping and volume are handled through the ZP3. Pretty neat looking rig powered up with the blue lights and VU meters. Fun little mini stack that Ill keep messing with. Im saving Dans outlaw amps for something more robust lol.
