Is it weird to be working on a speaker pair and at the same time drawing up another?

No. The only thing weird is you still pretending this will be your “endgame” speaker. You should call it “Endgame 2026 Speaker”. Then your next one can be “Endgame 2027 Speaker”, etc.

Dude I’ve got like 6 in my head at any given time. But alot of them I go back and forth on the details. I guess I build the ones that I finally nail down the design criteria.

What’s worse is having all the drivers, but still not pulling the trigger to start. Not that I would know anything about that….

I only have one speaker on the drawing board with plans to finish it up by next year. But I also have a huge back log of partially completed speaker, amplifier, and test equipment projects with no specific plans to finish them up in any given year. Some projects simply take a long time to acquire all the needed parts.

Whats the driver complement? Is it a 3 way - MTWW? I don’t get the tapered section for the mid with the aperiodic vent into the woofer TL space. or is it 2.5 way - though not sure how that will work. Some details and your thought process on the design?
Looks like that is just the leftover shape inside the outer TL section that he is using as the mid chamber. I’m seeing aperiodic vents out the side of the speaker, not into the woofer space.
I currently have 3 projects in the “build” stage. None of them are ready for measurements or xo design work. All 3 of them are using above average drivers and a couple passive radiators that I’ve had on my shelves for quite a while. I made myself a personal challenge not to buy anymore drivers in 2025 and with only a couple weeks left… I think I can, I think I can, lol!

Sorry Ani. This was intended more as a conversation starter. That project is still on the back burner. I really need to concentrate on my ”not a rocket” speaker. I will give you more details after Christmas if you’re a good boy.

I’m simultaneously building two floor standing WWMTM speakers which are bare MDF, I just finished measuring this week and just started simulating the first crossover the past 2 days.
Last night I started thinking about what speaker I want to build next.

I too, usually have a couple in queue.
I’d like to go a bit further with my InDIYana entry and do an actual WAW with the same drivers.
Then there’s the full active OB project. It’s gaining traction in my head.

It was somewhat warmer here today (39F) considering Christmas is next week. So I bundled up and cut all the panels for my new bass bins. That said…. I hate the winter months in the midwest.
