SEOS-838 waveguide

I guess my angling skills are lacking :fishing_pole:

No comment on potential better options? I have no ego to hurt here (I’m just having fun messing with waveguides with this one). I’m genuinely looking to generate some discourse. I might learn something.

There are better drivers, but not cheaper that can be crossed lower. The beast mode is one heck of a tweeter with very respectable specs and in that waveguide stellar.

The 35$ pricetag for the beast mode is an anomaly, not sure how long it will last (was supposed to be clearance price at PE and madi and is now in stock at PE), and availability of the seos wave guide is very unreliable, as long at they are available at that combined total, as per your measurement will make for a great 2 way with a 8” or a very smooth flat 10”.

If you are fishing for betther than beast mode and beast nipples is really hard in their price range. The Sb26st might get you close and the buyout wavecore: Wavecor TW030WA10 30mm textile dome tweeter, 8 ohm, 91dB.

I havent listened to my pair of the wavecore but I can say the build quality is excelent.

I have a pair of the buyout wavecire but haven’t used it or heard it. But I did do a 8” 2 way with the waveguide 30mm wavecire. Was easy to work with and very nice sounding.

But the faceplate is not removable on the buyout one so putting on a waveguide will not work well.

Apart from them, the SB ADC and the CDC work well in a waveguide though will not reach as low as the beast mode, the Satori’s work well in waveguides, then there’s CSS ldx, you can put your own waveguide or get the one with the waveguide, there’s also the purifi one. Some might work better for a particular application, cross low or higher efficiency or lower distortion, but with higher and in some instances much higher cost.

This is a standard workhorse like the erstwhile RS28 was - reliable, sounds good, crosses low and affordable.
