Sounds for a C3

I’ve been slowly working on getting some decent speakers in the old corvette. The stock were 6x9 tucked into the corners open baffle. This is my solution. It uses DC160-4 woofers and MCM tweeter that I believe Craig gave to me.

Right on! Eventually a full system in the ol gal?

Definitely pics, shes a looker:sign_of_the_horns:t3:

Wow very complex shape. I don’t think I’d have the patience to get all those angles correct.

I need a pair of grills like that for some DC160’s. Could you share where you found those?

Thanks.

This is what she looks like. All the mechanicals have been done and pretty much anything that could be stainless is. It needs paint, but that’s a retirement project, I just don’t have the time right now.

I have and old “green” Alpine head unit and a Crunch amp with meters to round out the system.

The grills came from Parts Express and fit the DC160’s perfectly.

This is how they will fit. The amp will go between and be framed out flush.

Found ‘em. Thanks!

The paint actually looks pretty nice in the picture . Was that a L-48 or L-82 car ?

It was a L48, but that engine and transmission is now in my pole barn. The current 350 has AFR CNCed heads, hydaulic roller cam and Comp pro magnum roller rockers. If I have time this year it will get fuel injection. Most likely Edelbrock multi port. I also swapped in 2004R transmission.

I like tje 2004R trans better than the 700R4. It has a bit higher first gear so it doesn’t bog down when it hits second and it also has a bit more overdrive.

200 is also a physical drop in for the 350, which makes it a natural for quite a few older muscle cars.

That’s actually why I chose it

Sigh , wished it was a 32 spline. Would seriously consider one for the C10.

What tranny do you currently have? The TH350 and the 2004R both have 27 spline outputs.

TH400 32 spline.
