Coming this fall. This project could wind up as “how to pay too much for the Chachos” - but parts are on hand and I have some reclaimed redwood siding from my parents old house that needs a new purpose. A baffle was cut this weekend, so here is a sneak peek. Drivers are SB Acoustics SB12CAC and a little Wavecor TW22 tweeter.

These will be very close to the same size, bass extension, etc, so the Chachos will be the natural standard to compare them to. You should bring them. I still cherish the memory of sitting next to Brad Bagby at Indy listening to the Quarks and Helium’s and comparing them.

Me too. The older boards were from the 1950’s and had very tight grain spacing. The newer ones (late 70’s) weren’t as good in that regard

I’ve had mine in my office mounted on the wall above the ‘puter all summer. The CAC is very good. I LOVE the SB26STCN more than the SB19. I’d imagine the Wavecor Scott is using will also be a great choice to go with the CAC. The combo needs a sub for help, ideally.
To clarify, the Micro-C’s use the SB19 tweeter. They are fine. My experience tells me the 12CAC paired with the STCN could be just a bit better. My opinion.
