Not sure why there are two different categories that seem to be the same thing:
Classifieds and Gear Swap.
I mean how many posts in one forum could not also work in the other? Could these be combined?

Initially the gear swap was intended to be for people willing to do just that - trade stuff. It was recommended by our users so we added it.
Gear swap was kinda for…hey I need a couple 20uF caps to try…sorta thing.
Let’s the community support one another.
Stuff offered for free or trade is all fine and good, but does that really need its own category? One category called “Gear Swaps and Sales” or similar could probably contain all of it without any confusion. Same goes for the Commercial category. What I am saying is that I do not expect the number of posts related to swaps/trades/sales to be so overwhelming that some breakdown into specialized categories is necessary. Thread titles should clue users into what it is all about.
This is sort of the reverse argument to my comment on the DIY category. There are many more posts there which have a variety of subjects and some like JR do not want to break that out into subcategories, yet here we have two for sale/swap purposes, three if you count “Commercial” in there as well.
I’m not trying to force anything, just that this is a good time to think out loud about the site organization before too much content has been added. I am fine with how ever the chips fall…
I never said not to break diy out.
JR - Ooops, sorry that was Wolf. My bad!
