My left side is still too weak to manhandle larger cabinets such as these are going to be, so sadly I do not think I will have them ready by Iowa. Going to have my hands full just lumping the 8” 2-way I am bringing.
I didn’t catch these on the old forum, so I just want to chime in and say this design looks great. ![]()

Yeah, the drivers all have decent pedigrees and if I do them justice, should be a very solid build. Be a winter project based on how my left side is feeling - lost a lot of muscle mass on the side of my body and these will be heavy boys.
Been released by Ortho for light weight lifting, so I can start rebuilding left side of my body. Should be able to tackle these in the next two months.
In the meantime, I have one flat pack I need to glue up and route some baffles, and baffles to cut for my collab build with Ken. Should keep me busy all winter.
Get lots of protein!
Hope your back to 100% soon.
Yep, not a problem getting protein. Just looking forward to being active, got myself a belly the last couple of months.
Still working on the cabinets. In the meantime I have started design work for a small bookshelf using GRS woofers and a Dayton ND28F tweeter. Ken is designing a waveguide for the tweeter so once I have dimensions on that I will do the CAD work.
Side note, I switched to Linux on my daily driver a month or so ago - no looking back. Now when I fire up my DIY laptop it feels wrong. I just dont want to fuck around getting ARTA etc running under Wine on Linux or that laptop would be Linux as well.
I’ve got pair of the DM-7600 dome mids, so I’m interested in your measurements/impressions.
I’ll definitely post some data on them. If they are like the -7500 the motor will be top notch.
Good to hear!
Decided to name these “Aoibhneas”. Old Irish for happiness, pronounced “eve-ness”
