I wonder if you’ll be able to get a little lower with the mid. Not a bad start by any stretch.
800 is low enough.
Maybe a little higher with the mid ???

3k is about all the higher a 3” dome should go.
Just looked like it had a little more to give is all. No offense intended.
I was thinking up towards 3.8kH, as measuring up thru 4kHz fairly clean, but may of course be other reasons not to go that high.
When using a 3” dome, the frame has become large and CTC increases more. The lobing will beam earlier than a 2” by comparison too, and the larger diameter will roll off sooner too off axis.

Thx for info. I’m a fan of ATC’s 3 inch, stated run ~ 380Hz thru 3.5kHz+, but it’s a beast of a driver.
I can see where CTC can become an issue.
It is getting into that range where directivity is starting to matter.
And bringing up ATC is like that dude that casually drapes his Porsche keys on the bar.

No offense taken. I am targeting high output with this bad boy, and want to ensure some extra protection on the mid, is all.

I’m certainly a fan, but not an owner.
I was not blown away by the ATC speakers I heard this weekend, they were nice but I was expecting quite a bit out of them based on various reviews I have read. They were playing Walk On The Wild Side by Lou Reed.
