DATS LA data dump

Infinity 8” CMMD woofer, OEM in Interludes.

Dayton DSA 8”

Seas L 22 RNX/P (H 1252-08) 8”

GRS 8” poly

Multicomp Pro carbon fiber cast frame 8”, 1.5mm advertised Xmax

Realistic poly 8”

Realistic/Radio Shack 8” DVC subwoofer, VC wired in parallel.

I believe that is all the 8” woofers I have here. Read into this what you will, I will make no commentary.

Assuming the software auto-adjusts the scaling?

Feel like I’m trying to understand voicecoil reviews with the symmetry and force factor heh. If only I knew what to observe or relate to what hear/experience.

Yes. That is correct.

That is super cool, I had no idea the new dats could do that. Does it use a physical acceleration measurement device or done electronically? Through the vc measurements?

Please keep measuring and posting. Very interesting to see, especially if a cheaper driver does very well or if a fancy driver falls short of expectation.

Interesting results. I remember that the Klippel system measures Xmax four different ways and takes the minimum value of the four as the true Xmax. Here are the four numbers (from ErinsAudioCorner, LINK) for the SB Acoustics SB17CAC35-4:

Dynavox 6.5” poly

Eclipse 8 ohm 6.5”

Tang Band W6-789E

Radio Shack 40-1011A 6.5” poly (my favorite driver just because nostalgia)

MAC-06

MCM 55-5660 6”. Brad tested this on his big board and it performed well there.

That’s all I have for 6-7” drivers.
