Too hot to do much else so I did this today instead of outdoors stuff:
Yup - that is one fabulous trumpet player - I had to jam [record my drumming] with this bunch doing the best rendition of this song I’ve ever heard - bar-none!
(9:00 mm:ss tune - I was running out of physical/mental energy/focus near the end but managed to pull the whole thing-off and mix it pretty well for an old analog recording - sounds great to my ears on the Sony MDR-7506’s).
One for your drive into work this morning if you like a smooth, clean & detailed mix - my drums are forward in the mix but balanced - hope you enjoy!
OK, my new PC Audio Labs PC is now functional in my little studio rack and this is my 1st drum recording/mix upon it:
Everything is working splendidly!
Sounds like it’s working just fine. This particular one, drum mix is a little soft for me.

Is it the entire drum kit that is low in volume or some specific attribute of the kit?
OK, I’m back in the studio for another mixing session and laundry . . .
Lets see if increasing the compression helps - back-in a while . . .
OK, this resulted in replacing, retuning &rebalancing the 3 bass drum mics, increasing the ambient room mics and a few other minor tweaks but see if this works better.

Eric - Thanks - you were right after listening upon fresh ears - bass drum; now too resonant/loud for this track?
Recorded this last night and mixed it this evening on fresh ears - it was a tough to clean-up mix with all the competition for frequency response in the midrange but I think this sounds pretty good overall.
That guitarist has his Whah-Whah pedal dialed-in!
Might need to turn it up a bit to get the best balance of highs and lows . . .
Quick listen on my phone and yes, much better.

Some file management issues now resolved - here is the tune link:
I’m pretty pleased with this mix after the continuous iterations of mixing and drumming till it all became smooth and fluid.
This one was pretty tough (time consuming) to get an acceptable mix but it is a feel-good tune, so I stuck with it.
Hope you enjoy.
