So sorry to hear about your friend. My sincere condolences. And good advice on the blood work. I will add - get your colonoscopy - so many put it off, it colon cancer is one of the most treatable if caught early. My sister was 49 yo and had not yet had one. It was diagnosed in ER where they removed a third of her lower intestine. She lived another 5 years, but in the end it got her. The procedure is not a big deal. Just do it.
100% I finally went in to see the doc , havent been to one in forever. Nothing was falling off , not over weight so wasnt expecting too much. Long story short , on BP meds now , cholesterol meds and some blood sugar management meds. Just go in , doesnt take long to do. Im sorry to hear he passed Nick.
Sorry bro! It’s an unfortunate event we start seeing more the older we get.
Another test to look into it a coronary calcium scan. It’s not a perfect test to what’s going on, but an indicator of plaque that’s already hardened.
Dahlquist DQ-10s…
Come to find out, one of the midrange speakers was replaced. Unfortunately it’s wasn’t the exact one. Bigger issue is it’s 8 ohm, not 4 like the original. That’s a big problem in a series crossover! So luckily I found one on eBay, it’s on its way.
Also found a tweeter fuse open on the other speaker. The 80uF electrolytic caps are done, measuring 70 and 71, esr is over 3 ohms, so those will be swapped too.
Sirens have gone off here 3x since midnight but It looks like that went north of us towards Dayton. Just now heard of another warning in Batesville, coming right at us. Sirens just fired up again.
It sounds like a tornado may have went right into Florence.
Just thunder storms around 3am here, flash flood alert woke me up at 4:45![]()
The rotation turned a bit southward and lost steam. That was a tense 2hrs until ~2am. Sirens went off 8-9 times.
On a totally different note. I found a pretty good deal on a table top charcoal grill at Rural King. Looks to me like last year’s “end of season” price that is still in effect. Fortunately the Rural King I checked had one left.
$32, normally $80
It is one of those units that can also be used as a side fire box for a larger grill.
I’ve had trouble getting other portable/tabletop charcoal grills to work worth a damn. Either the airflow isn’t right so the coals get choked, or the charcoal is right up against the grill grates. This one is bigger and beefier (40lb) with real intake and exhaust dampers and reasonable room for the charcoal.
We noticed a small drop of coolant under the Ranger. Wiped it up then noticed another drop a couple days later. After careful inspection my son and found the head gasket was weeping out a bit. Nothing into the oil or the cylinders. We blew it apart and are now putting it back together. Head and block are perfectly flat. Valves and seats look really good. Cylinder walls look almost new. My son is learning a ton of wrenching tech working on this together. He says he loves it!
Hell yeah Craig! Guessing new timing belt and such while it’s all apart?
Yo ! You guys slap on some headers?
Added a fuzzball to the family . Three legged maine coon. Gets around pretty good , gets up on the couch easy enough and is getting more adventurous by the minute. His little motor goes pretty good when he sits on your lap. No name yet , tripod and yard stick have been mentioned along with a pirates name … dunno know yet , something will pop up.
The roles would be reversed with me & my son when it comes to engines & wrenching. I did teach him some woodworking skills, which he’s put to good use. His latest project was rebuilding a pop-up camper.

For sure. New timing belt and tensioner, water pump, and T-stat.
It’s factory. I reminds me if the stock shorty headers that came on my 93 5.0.
Is it the dual spark plug head? Definitely do the set under the intake manifold now. Those are a nightmare once it’s all together.
Yep, dual plug head. We changed all 8 before the header and lower intake. Got a set of new wires too.
