Looking great! With the new stance, don’t really think all that much more chunk needed. 255/45 or even 235/50 might work also.

Happy B-Day JR! Have a sip or two or more for me.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I imbibed my share of pilsners last night and have spent this morning grocery shopping and playing in AutoCAD. A guy only turns 51 once.

One more is a full deck

Replacement surrounds for the Sansuis. They originally didn’t have a separate surround, just a pressed edge and some doping, kinda like a guitar speaker. I was able to use some JBL cloth surrounds. FS went from 60 to about 44. Bonus, it loaded in the cab a bit better, still to small of an encloser, but whatever. They make sound again.

After dropped those off, I picked up a pair of Dahlquist DQ-10s. Customer said it sounds like it has holes in the frequency response.

After getting them home and doing some research, the midbasses aren’t original. I hooked them up and something is definitely wrong, they don’t sound very good…at all.

Based upon the driver alignments, I’m guessing they have some interesting directivity control going on with that design . . . (focused/narrow).

Beautiful work, as usual, Eric!

Looks like an Advent woofer…

It is, luckily they’re already refoamed.

About a week ago a friend of mine fell over dead from a massive heart attack. He was 57 and not even overweight, but the problem is that he never went to the doctor, so get your blood work done yearly fellas if you don’t already do so. On top of him dying his 16 year old daughter came home to the paramedics working on him. Okay, that was my public service announcement. Back to happier things.
