Just poured my first concrete slab for soon to be installed heat pump.

Moved and leveled about 3 yards of soil to get that part leveled. Previous owner put a porch in front of a house to increase the value and created a downward slope towards the foundation. So drainage problems…

Are you installing yourself? Following… if you can please put in details and snaps.

I am.

I am thinking to get hvac guy to run high pressure test, vacuum and release the refrigerant and just pay for the service.

I had a complete shift of gears today. I helped document the harvest on the old home farm, conjuring up memories of pumpkins, candy corn and good ol’ Loess Hills cider.

Bonus note: the man at the helm of the combine is the mastermind behind Lonely Oak Distillery and their legendary Steeple Ridge bourbon.

See, it’s the same combine.

Ron - I get an error message saying the video is private.

They must have taken it down. It’s a piece from CBS and I get an error with a link to CBS. It’s still on Facebook and Instagram. You can watch it on Instagram without an account.

I watched it yesterday with no problem. I think they post stories for a while to generate some buzz, then put them behind the Paramount paywall hoping to persuade people to subscribe.

Well, I finally have the two veneer sheets I ordered… After usps sent from Louisville to Lexington then sat for days on end, only to send to Phoenix and back to Cincinnati

Oah boy. This’ll be my first time working with bare unbacked stuff. It is not super thin (estimated 1/42"). Crossing fingers it goes around a 3/4" radius against the grain with some heat and a little moisture from PVA.

That’s gorgeous looking grain!

Cheeze and Crackers!

I thought that pic was of a voice-coil damaged by un-as-yet-identified-offspring in a subwoofer . . .

Internet is down here at work this morning. Pretty ironic that we are a subsidiary of a cable company/ISP!

Ripple effects?

Jerry McNutt’s knowledge is amazing in that video. I aways learn something from him.

I’ve installed four of them in our house. One of my better decisions. They run off solar and in the hot part of the year, cut the elec bill by ~30%.

How do y’all cut denim lining/insulation? Everything I’ve tried sucks. Scissors, razor blades, this rolling blade thing my wife has for fabric. It’s all a PITA to try to cut it with

Electric carving knife - get one - Thanksgiving is coming . . .

Yeah I just went up and grabbed a drywall saw and it’s doing pretty good so far.

I just use scissors.
