Ended up ordering a pair of the SB Acoustics SB16FRPC25-7. Had plans to purchase them for a pair of on wall speakers, to match with the JA301 amp I’m building.

As to the ‘matching’, they match the EC30 FR as close as possible, and provide an overlay graph. They also list the tweeter numbers and identify which curve is which- in the graph only, but not on the tweeters themselves.
Impulse bought a DATS-LA. Hope is maybe since it’s a new design it will play better with new windows for me. Have some fun big bore stuff to measure with it: an Aurasound MR18.4 (NS18 with funky colors), JBL W1500h (successor to “SUB1500”), Genelec 7380 15” driver (clearly on the Tymphany/Peerless SDF platform), a pair of 18Sound 18NTLW5000s (their “Tetracoil” variant of a dual-coil-dual-gap design, highly similar to JBL “Differential Drive”).
Otherwise…nothing too exciting. A couple Neutrik 8-pole Speakon jacks for a “multisubs in one box” idea (2 subs each with 4x SB Acoustic SW26 shallow subs on the vertical faces of a closed cube, with each separate driver powered and EQed with 1 channel from a Powersoft Mezzo 604 — idea is to see if varying “directivity” above the 1st mode can obviate the need for subs dustributed around the room while allowing all of them to contribute to ULF) and a bunch of Neutrik color rings because I like to color code interconnects to keep things straight.

Well, I’m waiting to hear back from PE on how they want to proceed. One of my matched pair of EC30-4 is DOA. Open, no connection at all. Tried both VOM and WT2, nothing. Other measures just fine.
I’m hoping they can internally match a 3rd unit and ship it, and not have to send both my good and bad units back.

Well at least if you do have to send both tweeters back it should be 100% on Stahl to cover the shipping cost.
Viv at PE already replied, even on her day off, and said Cil should be able to refer a tech assistant Monday to get this remedied. I CC’d MattP too, in case that helped.

What is the driver in the PE sale pic? Looks like a Sig cone, but a bigger subwoofer surround and different cast basket… Has this already been discussed?

Wonder how they “matched” a dead tweeter with an open connection? Suppose it’s possible something jostled loose in transit assuming it’s just a disconnection somewhere.

Externally, I can’t find any proof of that. Everything appears solid. Even wiggled terminals to see if connection was intermittent without improvement.
MattP is going to have a look when they get back to PE, said this is their first failure for these. The included overlayed graph shows 2 tweeters’ FR, and that they match well until above 20k. This means they both likely did work at one time if they are indeed the measured units in the included graph.
I guess we will wait and see what is relayed back after his inspection. I am interested in how the incoming pair will relate to the good unit I had.

My wife said I could buy these to go with my Morel TSCT-1104 tweeters on the shelf. So I did. Now they will probably sit on the shelf for a couple years until I gain enough knowledge to implement them properly.
