Sales, deals, and steals - formerly known as the "PE DOTD" thread

In true fashion, I bought my DATS LA when it went on sale, and then PE does their Black Friday thing. Oh well, I just stocked up on hookup wire and crimp terminals using the discount.

Let’s see what Madi throws our way.

Jeez, dats La and omnimic 40k is $1200 bucks on sale. That’s pretty spendy to measure speakers as a hobby.

Just listed as “sale” (not as Black Friday) on Mad: HiVi B3N for $7.00 ea., SB SB10PGC21-4 for $12 ea.

You should call them and ask for a price match or at least partial match. Technically you could return it for no reason within the 60 day policy and buy it again with the Black Friday discount. (I know you’d have to pay shipping, but you a probably aren’t REALLY going to return it, your just making the case to them.)

That little SB looks nice for an open baffle line array. Someone should do that.

Maybe I’ll give them a call, couldn’t hurt.

Does the DATS LA do a better job on large drivers than DATS v3? I’ve been frustrated with v3 generally — though I’m ignorant about Windows, I think my settings are right.

I can do a heads up test between the two devices on one of my 10” Aerial Acoustics subwoofers. Possibly tonight.

DATS V3

DATS LA at full volume:

So some differences there.

I just checked, and with the 15% “BLACKFRIDAY25” code, I’m getting 934.97 at checkout for both the OM 40K & DATS LA before tax with free shipping. I didn’t place the order, though. Trying to avoid an impulse buy. But it is tempting.

Sale from Madisound is up. Not seeing anything too interesting yet…some high end stuff I’d like to play with but I have such a backlog of parts already.

Those Textreme SB woofers and aluminum Illuminators would be tempting if I had the space…

10% off @ Solen with the ability to “make an offer” on (almost) any item. They’ll counter with their best price if your offer is not accepted.

Get anything?

I used the 15% off at PE for a few things surrounding a BT speaker Christmas gift, and a pair of Epique EC30 came out to matched at regular price.

Sadly I think I’m just going to get a pair of $26 tweeters (Peerless OX20SC00-04 3/4") and some speaker wire. I thought about the Epique tweeters and really thought about the AMTHR-4’s which would be $64, but just wouldn’t use them for sooo long.

I did pick up a pair of 3eaudio A7 mono blocks with power supply on Amazon though ($152 ea.).

I finally ordered a pair of HiVi RT1.3WEs. Not sure what I’ll pair them with. I also threw in some crimp connectors and a pair Dayton Silkies to build JR’s “Cabrini the Last”. In all these years I have never used the Silkie, but JR most certainly did them justice. Not sure where I’m going to put another pair of speakers…

Hmm, with the discount one could get a matched pair of those Epique ceramic domes for under $130.

Those ceramic epique drivers look an awful lot alike the transducer lab tweeters. Did they take over their old product line?

Has anyone heard these ceramic tweeters?

I have not heard them, but they were displayed in an upcoming kit played at AXPONA this past Spring. I really like ceramic tweeters, and I like TLabs, but no, these are very different than TLabs models. The EC30 are deposited rather than anodized, and likely single magnet, whereas the TLabs are the opposite.
