What do you do with the speakers once you have built new ones.
I would love to go to one of the speaker meets. So dang far away. Looking for local enthusiasts near me. ![]()

Of you are at all close to Arizona, Mark Miller (@Mark65) on Facebook, or John Hollander (@jhollander) should be able to inform you.
I am in Arizona.
west side (far west).
I believe Mark and John are both in Phoenix.
The Beer Budget Window Rattlers were built for a co-worker, so they are long gone. He lived in an old two story house with single pane windows, hence the name. According to the old DOS based software program called BOXRESPONSE, each speaker could develop a maximum infinite baffle response of 117dB with 335 watts of input, and were down only 1.85dB at 30Hz!
The Computer Mini Monitors are also long gone, gave them away as Christmas presents. The Plan-Tanics were completely re-done and are now my new “Divide and Conquer” project. The Neo Deepo speakers were re-purposed into bass bins for other builds. The Neo-8 drivers are in cold storage and waiting for a new project. Some of my old builds I like, others not so much. In many cases, the old cabinets have simply become storage racks for the drivers mounted in them, until a new project comes to mind. It is a never ending cycle.
I usually try to give them away, or just take them apart and either hoard the drivers or try to sell them.
I actually have had good luck selling some of my better builds. I usually get what I have in materials or slightly less. I have met some cool people while doing that, and have also had some really good audio trades. I actually sold a pair today to a friend of mine that also dabbles in DIY. I don’t really make anything on them, but I do like to see them get used.
I have found great pleasure in giving pairs of speakers to friends of mine who are fantastic musicians but who were listening and practicing with crappy plastic computer speakers. I have also paired some of those speakers with one of my cigar box class D amp boards and PC power supply bricks. Have received more “thanks”, hugs, and free breakfasts than I can count.
Some get given away, some have been sold.
I give all of my excess builds away to family and friends. I’ve made a few grown men cry. I have speakers on both coasts and 1 pair are in Amsterdam.
I have veered in to bluetooth radio building and have used it twice for charity raffles, the previous and current:
Beautiful timber and wood work!
Hell yeah, awesome veneer work!! Nice bro![]()
Yeah, that’s taking veneering to another level!
I really like the camouflage one. Those shotgun shells in the side look really cool
Edit: would you be willing to share plans on that one. I keep looking at it and want one lol.
Thanks guys!
No veneer, i haven’t wanted to embrace the learning curve![]()

They are full wood inlays, i carved it all. That dog was a massive pain in the ass.
Stearns, it is Scott Sehlin’s Mercury design, just adapted. I’ll look for my schematics and get it to you.
We visited the Millers in January 2026

Mark demoed a couple of his builds and demonstrated some serious grilling magic
I got ahold of him, funny thing is he went to refrigeration school with someone I went to high-school with.
